“Follow the science”. It is a phrase elected officials, unelected officials, and many in the media repeat frequently, especially regarding recommended measures to mitigate COVID-19. It is time for us to ask these same people to “follow the science” and end the evil that is abortion. In this country, murder is a crime. Yet abortions are performed, unabated by the science that tells us life begins at conception. The National March for Life 2021 will be held in Washington D.C on Friday, January 29, 2021. It is our call to action to stand for life. More information for those wishing to attend the March can be found in the bulletin as it becomes available. In the weeks leading up to the March for Life, read the bulletin for the facts on the Roe v. Wade decision by the U.S. Supreme Court that will surprise and shock you. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing-Edmund Burke, British statesman (1729-1797)

Spiritually Adopted Babies Update

Our spiritually adopted babies are growing by leaps and bounds! Since our last update our babies are now in their third month. They can suck their thumbs, grasp objects tightly in the palm of their hands and respond to touch. No need for gymnastics class for our babies as they are performing forward and backwards somersaults! Their body weight increases by 75% during this time of rapid growth. Fingernails and toenails appear and each baby has their own unique fingerprint now. Stay tuned for more updates in a month.

Please continue to say the special prayer written by Bishop Fulton Sheen:

"Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of the unborn baby I have spiritually adopted, who is in danger of abortion. Amen

"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you."   Jeremiah 1:5

In the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision which legalized abortion in this country, never in the Justices' decision was abortion declared a "constitutional right". Rather, the Justices' based their decision on a previously undefined "right to privacy" which is not written in the Constitution but is a "right" in the penumbrae of the Constitution. The penumbrae are used to describe implied powers of the federal government derived from a specific rule. In this case, the "right to privacy" is implied from the First Amendment to the Constitution.

Life at Conception Act declares unborn children to be "persons" as defined by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution and therefore entitled to legal protection.  If this bill passes Congress and is signed into law by the President , then the evil that is abortion would end. Contact your U.S. Senators and your Congressional Representative and let them know your support for this bill, H.R.616 Life At Conception Act introduced in the House of Representatives on January 16, 2019.

 Support Gabriel Project

We know during this time of year there are many requests from charities for your financial help. Please consider a gift to this worthy cause. The Gabriel Project began when a priest placed a sign in front of a Catholic Church offering parish assistance to any pregnant women in need.
Give a Gift for Life. Please give a Gift for Life this season to help Gabriel Project fund a mother’s maternity care. An expectant mother wrote: “I give thanks for the prayers and intervention of the people who were outside the abortion clinic and I decided to call Gabriel Project. Now thanks to them I have my first medical appointment to see how my baby is doing and it really is a blessing for everything I have received.” For more information and/or to donate: www.arlingtondiocese.org/giftforlife
